Tuneup Utilities 2008 Not just another good registry cleaner.

After trying TuneUp Utilities 2008, I can honsetly say I've found what I had been looking for. This gem is not just your run-of-the-mill registry cleaner, or system cleaning tool. It is jam-packed with some of the best utility software I've seen on the web.
This powerhouse comes with a host of tools that not only allows you to perform vital system maintenance, it also includes tools to customize windows and repair common desktop problems. In addition, there are a few other gadgety utilities that perform nifty tweaks on your system to help improve overall performance.
I've used other registry cleaners on my machine before, and this suite tends to clean up after them. Don't get me wrong, I still won't give up my CCleaner, but it is nice to follow up with a commercial product afterwards.
Included in this package is a decent defragmentation utility that can be easily scheduled to run when you want it to. The software also includes a separate icon for complete system maintenance. If you are one of those people that doesn't want to think about running maintenance on your system at regular intervals, then this little feature is perfect for you.
From cleaning your temp files, to defragmenting your registry... It seems to cover all the bases. Not to mention you can customize how your logon screen looks, and change little things like whether shortcut icons have that little arrow in the corner (I know there is a registry hack for this, but having a button that does it for you is much easier in my opinion).
The only downfall I've seen with this beauty is its price tag. At almost 50 clams ($50 USD for those who don't know how to convert from clams), it seems a bit steep for a typical maintenance utility. They are nice enough to give you a couple bucks off per copy if you decide to buy in bulk (that is, 3 or more copies).
I would recommend this to a friend and think it is a great little utility for the average computer user, but may not suit those on a tight budget. In that case, you'll have to do it the old fashioned way.
They do offer a trial version if you are interested in checking it out. Just head over to the TuneUp Utilities website at TuneUp Utilities 2008 and check it out.
