Ok... here's the latest scoop on the rumored price plan changes coming out June 15th. We have it on good authority that the following are definitely SOME of the changes that are going to be made. We have not been able to confirm whether the free incoming plans are going away, or if the plans that are listed below are the only plans that are going to be available. But, as stated earlier, these are going to be at least some of the plans that are going to be available June 15th. And (drum roll please)... without further ado:
CDMA and IDEN (or Sprint and Nextel for those of you not in the know) phones will now be able to share off the same family share plan on the same account/
Simply Everything plans will still have the cumulative $5.00 per additional line discount up to 5 lines. Lines 6+ however will get a price tag of $89.99 per month.
Unlimited Talk/Message/Connect plans will also still have the cumulative $5.00 per additional line discount up to 5 lines. Lines 6 and above will be billed $79.99 per month.
It looks like Family Share plans with just "voice" will now start at the 700 minute level for $69.99 for the first two lines with ALL add-a-lines costing $9.99 per month (yes that means Nextel add-a-lines are also just $9.99 with this plan).
There is also going to be a Family Share plan that includes Voice and "unlimited messaging". According to our source however, that family plan starts at 1500 voice minutes for $99.99 for the first two lines. Each additional line would still cost $9.99 per month for either CDMA or IDEN units and would share the unlimited messaging.
Keeping up with the trend of packages here, there is a final suite of Familly Share plans that includes voice, unlimited messaging, and... you guessed it, unlimited data! These plans appear to start at the 1500 minute level as well with price tag of $129.99 for the first two lines and $19.99 per additional line on this one. We assume the higher add-a-line price on this baby is for the unlimited data sharing.
"Messaging" plans now include not just text messaging, but also picture mail and video mail!
For those business users out there, the new Business Essential plans will include BOTH unlimited DC AND unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile now.
These are just some of the changes that we are pretty darn sure are coming June 15th. I can't believe that these are all of the changes, and would have to imagine that the family share plans with messaging and data will have to have a lower starting point, but we'll have to wait in order to find out. Also, our source would not confirm whether all current plans, such as Free Incoming plans, will be gone with the new changes. Guess I'll have to stick to my Simply Everything plan!
